Avoiding Oversteer and Understeer

An easy drive around Lubbock can easily become a problem because of weather or road conditions, too much or too little speed, or because of issues with your vehicle. Rounding a curve may put you off the road because your wheels did not turn as much as you wanted it too. This is known as Understeer. On the other hand, if your wheels turn too strongly, you end up in a spin. This is called Oversteer.

You can prevent understeer by easing up on the accelerator and applying the brakes slowly. To prevent oversteer, you can slowly stop your vehicle before it leaves the road.

You can also depend on modern smart technologies to take care of the problem before they develop. At Alderson Lexus, we can demonstrate how modern driver assists can predict over- or under-steer and automatically adjust braking and engine power to prevent either from happening.
